The St Laurence 100 Club is a monthly draw intended as a fun way to raise money for St Laurence Church, Winslow. We have monthly prizes of £30, £20 and £10 and also make a monthly contribution to the Church funds.
Membership is only £12 per year per ticket, and joining is really easy – just get in touch with the organiser George Hooper and we can allocate you a ticket – better odds of winning than the National Lottery! Winners are announced in the parish magazine every month.
St Laurence Church runs a rota of drivers who can take people to church for Sunday services who don’t have their own transport and find walking difficult. There is no charge for this service, but it is dependent on us having sufficient drivers to meet the need. If you think you could volunteer as a driver (likely to only be every 4-5 weeks) or would like to make use of the service, please contact the organiser George Hooper.
The Book Group meets every 4-6 weeks. We meet to chat informally about a book that has something to say about faith - which leaves a lot of books to choose from. Newcomers are always welcome to join us, whether it's for one book or several. It is led by Didier so please contact him if you would like to know more.
The next book group is on 25 November 2024 at 6.45pm. We shall be discussing The Salt Path by Raynor Winn
The aim of the choir is to sing well and have fun doing so.
It is impossible to praise the Lord and be miserable at the same time, so laughter is often heard during practices as well as singing at services.
This group meets on the first Monday of the month and is a chance to pray with others. A typical meeting has a short devotional reading which leads into silent prayer for 30 minutes. The silence is ended with prayer and concludes with the Grace or similar.
The group meets by Zoom, and you can join using the QR code or use the details below. Canon Alan leads this group.
