Here are some important dates of events taking place in the Benefice over July and early August. If you are getting away, we hope you have a great holiday and best wishes to all our children looking forward to the end of term.



Iona Celtic Communion 

18 July 2023: 7pm

A service using a Celtic liturgy from the Iona Community set in the beautiful church of St Mary's Addington. All are welcome.


The Iona Community was founded in Glasgow in 1938 by Rev George MacLeod. It is part of the global church with a belief in the power of community to transform lives and the world. Worship is inclusive and involves ancient prayers, reflection and singing, including many songs from other cultures.

Workshops with the Rector


Pastoral Care Workshop


22 July 2023: 9.30am - 11.30am

St Laurence Rooms


The Rector, Steve, will be leading a workshop for all interested in (or already working in) any kind of pastoral ministry or care in the Benefice.

29 July 2023: 9.30am - 11.30am

Steve will be leading a workshop for all who welcome people into any of churches or might be interested in doing so.

Lay Ministry Workshop


5 August 2023: 9.30am - 11.30am

St Laurence Rooms


This final workshop led by Steve is aimed at those who are interested in, or already engaged, in lay ministry including children’s and older people’s activities inside or outside the church, or for those considering a more active role in preaching teaching, leading worship, or pastoral care and support.

Just Sit! (The Julian Meetings)


7 August 2023: 8pm

St Mary's, Addington


Join Canon Alan and the group in the tranquil setting of St. Mary's or join the meditation online the recording lasts for just under 30 minutes (20 of which we just sit with some meditation 'words' to help us focus)
