Apart from our regular religious services, St James is striving to serve the local Community. Some of the events and activities we also offer are as follows:-

  • Breakfast in Church.  Recently following a Sermon by the Bishop of Buckingham encouraging us to “reach out” we have started serving a cooked breakfast in Church on every 2nd Sunday of the month. This has proved to be very popular. We start at 10.30 am with breakfast and at 11am we enjoy a family interactive service. We are so very pleased that lots of families seem to enjoy this Service.

  • Church Music Group.  Our Music Group plays in the Church on each 2nd Sunday of the month.  Anybody, of any age, who has an instrument and would like to play with the Group is very welcome. The Group meets at 10 am in the Church on the 2nd Sunday to practice for half an hour before the breakfast at 10:30 and the Service at 11am.

  • Lent lunches for all the village, held in the village hall.
  • Annual Church Fete held on the village green.

  • Christmas Carol Service, Easter Service, Remembrance Day Service.

  • Palm Sunday walk around the village led by a donkey and members of the Great Horwood Silver Band.

  • Carol singing on the Village Green.

  • Annual fund raising fun auction in The Swan Pub.
